Does anybody have some tips on how to get rid of that sediment ring thats left behind inside the carboy? Because of the small opening I can't quite get my wire brush to bend at the right angle to scrub it away.

Thanks

A handful of rice with your pbw mix (or other preffered cleaner) and plenty of swirling and shaking. The rice adds enough abrasiveness

An overnight soak, filled to the top, with hot PBW solution will remove it without having to scrub anything. Simply dump it and rinse the next day and you're done.

This works on glass coffee pots to get out the stubborn stains. Might be worth a try for your issue.

- a couple of cups of ice
- half cup or so of vinegar or lemon juice
- couple tablespoons of table salt

Exact ratios are not super-critical, as far as i can tell.

Dump this stuff in your vessel, and make swirly-swishy motions so the stuff sloshes over the dirty areas. Should come clean in a short time.

Rinse with clean water. Sip a homebrew.

Cheers.
Patrick
