I have a friend who is just starting to brew (one brew under his kilt). He went to Portland a couple of weeks ago and fell in love with C-Note IIPA from Old Lompoc brewing. I told him I'd help him make a clone... Feedback would be appreciated.
C-Note Imperial IPA
Final Batch Size 5.5G SG 1.087 FG 1.014 IBUs >100
Fermentables:
#8.0 LDME
#1.0 Amber DME
#1.0 Crystal 75L
#1.0 caramel malt
#0.5 Carapils/Dextrine
Hops
2 oz Columbus 10.5AA 90 minutes
.5 oz Cluster 7.0AA 90 minutes
1.0 oz Chinook 13.0AA 45 Minutes
1.0 oz Centennial 10.5AA 30 Minutes
1.0 oz Cascade 5.75AA 0 Minutes
1.0 oz Centennial 10.5AA 0 minutes
1.0 oz Challenger 7.50AA 0 minutes
1.0 oz Crystal 3.25 Dry
1.0 oz Centennial 10.5AA Dry
1.0 oz Cascade 5.75 Dry
Yeast: 1332 Northwest Ale (2 packages or make an appropriate starter)
Finings: Irish Moss 0.5 tsp @ 10Mins
Steep grains for 45 minutes at 154 degrees add half the DME and start the boil. Add the final DME@10 Mins
Ferment @ 68 degrees
Dry hop @14+ days for 7 days
