I had an interesting idea for an experiement.
Try and produce a beer entirely made of ingredients bought in a typical supermarket.
For yeast, easy, Bread yeast.
Grains are a bit more difficult, Perhaps Ovaltine used as DME, or steeping some Grape Nuts (made of mostly wheat and malted barley.
There's no chance of finding hops in the supermarket, so I was thinking of substituting chamomile tea.
Anyone have any thoughts, ideas for ingredients, etc? Has this been tried before?
As soon, as I develop a recipe, I'll try brewing a 1 gallon batch, and let everyone know how it turns out.
