If I'm doing a cereal mash with 2 pounds of grain and a bit of 2 row and a main mash with 8 lbs. or regular grain, should I have enough water for 10 lbs. of grain in my main mash, or just the 8? The 2 lbs. in the cereal mash will have 6 quarts of water in it during the cereal mash before adding it to the main mash.

Did I say mash enough times?

Mash.

Thanks! :mug:

It really depends on your temps. I do my cereal at 2qt/lb or higher (the main is about the same.) I time the main mash to set at protein rest for 10 minutes then add the cereal to bring the whole mash to saccharification.
