Hi all. As I am chilling off my wert, it occured to my that WOW this oatmeal stout is amazingly thick. So my question for you in brewland is, Is it suppose to be amazingly thick? I also had a little scorching at the bottom of my pan. Do you think I will get a burt taste?

What are your thoughts?

Thanks, Joe:mug:

It "should" have a full bodied feel to it. Is that what you mean by thick? It can give a thick impression definitely, but also be smooth at the same time.

As for scorching, take a taste. It could be, possibly not. Your taste buds will be the magic 8-ball.

that was kind of my thought as well. We will see I guess. It is thick and creamy. Hopefully this will turn out!

I had a PM brew a while back that scorched and it indeed had a burnt taste to it. It was a porter so it wasn't to noticeable for others, but I knew it.
