so I justy transferred my beer from my primary to secondary, and there is alot more headspace left over then I thought there was going to be.. is this really bad?

lol, no. I'd say you should aim for having 5.5 gallons in your primary so that when you rack, you get about 5 gallons of beer in your secondary.

yea, I thought I had enough in my primary, but when I racked the carboy was so much emptier then I thought it would be. i had just heard headpsace was a bad thing because of oxidization so i got freaked out.

Kanderna, please clear out your P/M box so I can answer your question.

I was born and raised in Iowa City. Good to see some Iowans brewing.
