Smash

ok so ive been brewing for a few months now, im pretty sure i know my way around the art of brewing to know how to make some pretty decent beers. now some of this is from knowledge, some is from trial and error. heres my question. i see some of you guys throwing the term SMASH around. i have no idea what this is. can somebody explain. ive tried to read the discussions and figure it out, but apparently im not smart enough.
