I would like my UDS to be able to do double duty and also cold smoke. This is in the hope that I will be able to control the heat in the UDS enough and keep it high enough to be able to do ribs or whatever, and to be able to have something hooked up externaly, maybe to the exaust tube, to cold smoke. This is without my doing that damn can and soldering iron setup.
I am thinking about securing a section of flexible dryer duct work to the exaust on my UDS. This will hopefully exchange enough heat (over 8' or so) to cool down the smoke enough for cold smoking.

Any thoughts on this. It will be in the low 30s for the next few days here and then into the mid 40s so I will be able to cold smoke outside and not have to worry about putting my meat in a cooler with ice or anything to hold the temp steady.
