Going to be brewing my second batch on Sunday and I am going to create a starter. I just wanted to make sure i have the procedure right.

-Boil 2 cups of water and add 1/2 cup DME (I have a kit, should I use 1/2 cup from the kit supplied stuff or get some additional DME?)

-Cool the wort by placing the pot in an ice bath in the sink.

-Sanitize a 1 gallon jug and funnel.

-Pour the mini-wort into the jug through the funnel.

-Pich in the white-labs yeast.

-cover with stopper and airlock (or aluminum foil)

I was planning on doing this on Saturday, is 1 day enough?

That'll work. One should be good, unless you're doing a lager or a really big beer. It's fine to use alittle from your kit, but I keep a couple bags handy just for making starters.
