I can't decide what to use for trim.

I'm wanting to add some trip between the orange collar and the metal below to cover up the white band. Thoughts?
 
You can use a piece of chair rail or panel molding with a 1\4" rabbit in it. It is used for wainscoting or bead board. Most Home Depots have some, but you will be better off going to a lumber yard for more variety. You could wrap it around the sides and paint it if you wanted. Just a thought
