I was just wondering if anyone has been to the new homebrew supply store in Goodletsville called Rebelbrew. Being so new to homebrewing I wouldn't know a good deal on random ingredients if it jumped up, smacked me in the head and put some money back into my wallet. :)

However I can do some research and found the following:

Cascade Pellet 1oz
RebelBrew 2.50
Midwest 2.50
Austin 2.99
All Seasons 2.99

Briess 2 row 1 lb
RebelBrew 1.09
Midwest 1.30
Austin 1.35
All Seasons 1.28

So if anyone has been there or knows anything about them please let me know. Quality of their product, ect. AllSeasons and RebelBrew seem like they are about the same distance from me or I can always order online but them shipping comes into the cost equation.

Thanks.

I have been.

I live 3 miles from All Seasons and will now go to Rebelbrewer for all my needs. Yeah, it's more of a drive, but it's worth it to me. It is much cheaper in the long run I have calculated. Don't forget the 10% discount on the grain if you buy 10 lbs or more - so that Briess 2-row is knocked down to less than $1/lb. I did these calculations a little while ago for my next two beers: (I didn't include hops, because for me and my club we buy all in bulk from Hops Direct).

Dusseldorf Alt - 6 gallons

6.5 lbs Pils
3 lbs Munich
2 lbs Vienna
0.75 lbs Caramunich
.13 lbs Carafa Special II
Wyeast 1007 German Ale

Belgian Tripel - 6 gallons

14 lbs pils
3 lbs Cane Sugar (not reflected in pricing)
Wyeast 3787 Trappist High Gravity

Rebel Brewer - $42.65 - instore pickup ($11.84 fedex ground, if applicable = $54.49)

All Seasons - $67.49 - $6.75 (A.S.S. discount, I think it's 10%, but not certain) + $5.62 (9.25% TN sales tax) = $66.36

B3 - $66.70 (free shipping)

Austin Homebrew - $60.63 + $6.99 shipping = $67.62

Midwest Supplies - $51.35 + $16.77 shipping = $68.12

Northern Brewer - $75.00 + $7.99 flat rate shipping = $82.99

I live too far away in Cookeville but go visit my mom in Dickson every month or two and could stop in to pickup some things. I'm interested to see how other people like them.

What club are you in chef?

Antioch Sud Suckers. Kinda fizzling out as a club though, so it kinda sucks. Me and another guy get together to brew about once a month and every so often we have tastings with other guys. Hopefully we can start getting more meetings going this year.
