store hops?

i have some pellet and leaf hops, in unopend sealed packages. should i freeze them or just leave them in the frig?

how long will they last? i'm sort of working up an inventory, but i dont want to let my hops go bad, thats a sin i believe. :mug:

air, light and heat will damage hops.

so keep em sealed and air-tight, away from sunlight or strong artificial lighting, and cool. fridge temps should be fine for many months.

date your hops so you make sure you use the oldest stock first. with the hop shortage right now you may end up buying more hops of types you already have just because you could find them.

I keep mine in the freezer. I have a shelf on the door of my upright freezer just dedicated to hops. They'll last a long time if unopened.

They'll keep better in the freezer, there's no real reason to leave them in the fridge.

Frozen, sealed hops will be good for several years.
