I brewed my first beer a week ago. It was a Saison with the infamous Wyeast 3724. Just wondering if I should bother with a gravity reading this early in the game. My OG was 1.050. I'm holding the beer at 90 degrees with an aquarium heater in a water bath, and the airlock is bubbling about every 10 seconds. I know it probably won't be ready for a couple of weeks, but I'm heading on vacation in a couple of days and just wanted to make sure everything was fine before I left.

Would it make you feel better to take a reading before you leave? Which it sounds like from your post, then do so.That's the point of gravity readings, to let you know what's going on. Is it necessary for anything other than peace of mind since you're leaving it for a month? No....
