...and I made it. Well not really. I got a Home Depot gift card and had to buy the parts myself. Here are some pictures of my 70 qt Coleman MLT I just put together.

I filled it up with hot water and let it sit for about 45 minutes. Not a leak in sight!

Also when I drained it I poured the remaining water that did not come out in to a cup. It was only 2 cups which is .125 gallons. That's some pretty good dead space efficiency for an MLT if you ask me!

Sweet, I am still using my 10 gallon Igloo, But I need to mash bigger grain bills, so I am thinking about upgrading to a bigger cooler.

Is there a list of the name of the fittings you used in another thread, or did you just put it together you own way.

I loosely based it off of a few Cooler to MLT conversion tutorials I found. Here are the parts I used starting from the outside going in:

3/8" x 1/2" Barb to MIP Adapter (Watts A-300A) - $2.49
1/2" Ball Valve (B&K 107-403hc) - $5.77
3/4" Zinc Washer - $.25
1/2" x CLOSE Brass Pipe Nipple (Watts A-835) - $2.45
Rubber Washer - Came with the cooler
3/4" Stainless Steel Washer - $.75
1/2" Barb to 1/2" FIP Adapter (Watts A-390) - $2.34
3/8" OD x 7/8" Ballcock x 20" Toilet Connector (Watts Model FST20) - $7.98
2 Stainless Steel Clamps - $1.90
3/8" MIP Square Head Plug (Watts A-773) - $2.08

Teflon Tape - $.99
10' of 5/8" good grade vinyl tubing - $7.99

The Coleman 70 qt Extreme Cooler is going for $37.88 at Walmart.com right now.

Grand total: $72.87.

That would be great, I am sure I can figure out how to put it all together. I have my cooler but have not made it to the hardware store yet.

I just edited the above post for you.

Those stainless clamps may rust eventually (they did for FlyGuy, even though they're stainless).

I replaced mine with removable zip-ties and they work fine.

I saw that. How strange is that? Yours rusted as well?

No, I switched them out before they had the opportunity.

I didn't even need pliers (but I do have hulk like strength). I just held the inside and turned the outside part. I believe it was counter-clockwise. It just screws right off.
