I want to carb a batch of hard cider I made. But I was thinking about using DME or LME to prime it rather than sugar.

A) Would that work?

B) If so how much should I add to reach a normal carbonation level?

C) Also if so, what would be a good type to complement the flavor of a hard cider?

Sure, that would work!

When I prime with DME, I normally use 1.25 cups of DME for 5 gallons. That's for the same/similar carb level as 4.5 ounces of corn sugar.

Since it ferments out quite a bit (80% or so), I'm not sure you'd get much flavor from it, though.

A) yes

b) 1.25-1.5 cups per 5 gallons

C) I think the best choice would be apple juice concentrate instead
