SS nut in an aluminum pot - is this a no-no?

(any help on that thread would be appreciated too)

Haven't had any luck so I thought I'd just ask it directly. Will I run into problems putting a SS nut on the inside of my aluminum pot to install a heating element?

I don't see why it would be a problem. Also, you can get aluminum nuts at Mcmaster.

Ok thanks guys.. I just remember reading something about possible corrosion issues or something. Just wanted to verify.

in a corrosive environment and with long term exposure the aluminum will become sacrificial.
beer isn't that corrosive and our exposure times are very very short.
No problem at all.

Aluminum and SS do not create an electrolysis issue. Your good to go.

Aluminum and mild steel would be bad, but we are talking short exposure time. I'd dismantle the pot after each brew, clean and dry all parts, then reassemble.
