So I wanted to make an America themed beer to celebrate Independence Day this year. The idea I came up with was a ""Red, White and Blue"" Ale using only US ingredients which I shall call 'Meric-Ale. For the "red" - strawberries, for the "blue" - blueberries, and for the "white", since I couldnt really come up with an ingredient, I plan on doing a Blonde or wheat style.

Has anyone combined multiple fruits like this in one beer before, or would this be flavor overkill? If it would be too much, I might could split the batch into two secondaries with one fruit in each.

I plan on using 6lb of blueberries and 3lb of strawberries - buying them from the local grocery store, boiling for 10 minutes before racking onto them in the secondary.

Any critiques/comments/suggestions would be much appreciated! :mug:
