I was just looking around on All Electronics and found that they are selling a dual PWM dimmer control module for $18. I just bought one to create a dual stirplate, using 12V fan motors. I've built PWM controllers in the past but these just look so much easier.
 
That is a really good find! Thanks I think I'll get that for another non beer related project I have in mind.

Also for my controller I used a case fan speed controller. It has built in control for 4 fans so technically I could run up to 4 plates at once. Heres a lik to my page

These controllers can be found fir around $15 in eBay or amazon.
