I got a faucet and shank for Christmas that I will put on the door of my kegerator. I currently use a picnic tap setup from MW supply, it came with like 5 ft of beer line and had the picnic tap and beer disconnect permanently clamped on. I'm thinking of just cutting off the picnic tap and attaching it to the barb on the shank but am curious about the line length. I think I currently have 5ft of line and it pours fine with picnic tap but will the same be true for the faucet?

Yes. On the other hand, a disconnect and 10' of tubing cost less than 10 bucks and you'd still have the picnic tap.
