Can I heat my mash tun after I have mashed for an hour to bring up my temps? I dont want to burn my grains because I have a manifold at the bottom of the keggle which does not allow me to stir. Will my grains burn with the bottom heat or should I not worry.

Yeah, you don't want to apply heat when there's grain sitting on the bottom. It will definitely scorch.
