flavour extract instead of steeping fruit?

I was at the bulk barn and they have these really small micro sized bottles of "potent" flavor extract (like a spoon full amount) I bought one of apple and one of grape and man does it smell and taste like what it says!

anyways... when going to the secondary why bother steeping fruit if you can just add extract?
 
In my experience, the extract just has a bad aftertaste. If you've found some good stuff, though- why not?

Make sure there is nothing fermentable in there, and add it to taste.
 
yeah the apple was sour apple but it was damm potent for sure... I dont think it would be good for beer.... grape either....

I didnt see any strawberry extract otherwise Id try making my own fruli or floris
