Hi,

I had a question for you guys that have had their couplings welded to their kettles. Did you weld the couplings THROUGH the kettle - e.g. drill a hole large enough to put the whole coupling though it - or simply drill a hole of the same size and rest the coupling on the outside.

I was thinking that a coupling that went through the kettle would be better but I want your opinions. I won't be doing the welding myself - I found some very experienced welders to do it.

I have it both ways, full coupling through the wall and a half coupling flush mounted. Much prefer through the wall ! A cleaner job that makes cleaning easier.

btw - my welder was very experienced (at crappy welding jobs)
