Some are aluminum. If it is unusually light and dents easily then its probably aluminum. If you have a REALLY strong magnet you can test it that way.

Either SS or AL will work fine as a brewpot. Just as an FYI, the vast majority of kegs are SS. $25 is a great deal, snag em!
