I'm just getting started making a few brews for myself. So far I have made just one batch. A full extract brown ale. It bubbled like mad in primary for about 24 hours then settled down a ton. Scared me to death!!! Apparently, from reading these forums it's not that big of a deal.

I enjoy pretty much any kind of beer that I can get ahold of. Especially a good home brew.

I have a nice area in my backyard that I believe will serve as a nice hop garden. If the wife approves anyway.

So, let's get this thing started and maybe I'll learn a thing or three.

Hi and welcome to the forums. Brown ales are a good starting beer and taste good to boot. The hardest thing starting out is patience so let it ferment nicely for 2 weeks. Plan the next batch because most of us run out of the first batch pretty fast. :)
