Any types of extract brews that I dont have to lager that would produce a "similar" beer?

I'm going to be trying a Oktoberfest, but I don't have the ability to lager. Many folks have said that using a Kolsch yeast with a proper recipe will give your beer that Oktoberfest-like flavor. Here's the recipe (it's extract) if you're interested:

Shocktoberfest

Recipe Type: Extract
Yeast: White Labs 029 German Ale/Kolsch
Yeast Starter: Yes
Batch Size (Gallons): 5.0
Original Gravity: ?
Final Gravity: ?
Boiling Time (Minutes): 60

Amount Item Type % or IBU

Malt Extract:
3.50 lbs Briess Pilsen DME
1.00 lb Munton Amber DME
1.00 lb Extra Light DME

Grains:
0.5 lb Cara pils
1.00 lb. Aromatic
1.00 lb Caramel/Crystal Malt -20L
0.50 lb Caramel/Crystal Malt -40L

Hops:
1.0 oz Tettnang (60 min)
0 . 5oz Tettnang (45 min)
0.5 oz Tettnang (30 min)

Misc:
1 Whirfloc tablet

Yeast:
White Labs 029 German Ale/Kolsch
 
I don't know what your lhbs carries as far as yeast (wyeast/white labs), but you could also use Wyeast 2112. Take a look at this.
 
I brewed one with a white labs 29 and it sat for two days. I threw in a safeale 05 and it started right up.

I will let you know how it turned out here in about a week.
