1st Year Harvest - exceptionally good?

So a friend of mine has a mini farm behind his house and decided to grow some hops this year. He planted Sterling, Perle, Saaz, and Nugget. The Sterlings have gone absolutely nuts! They smell delicious.


We're unsure when to harvest and I'm about to go and read about it in a thread that I am sure is around here somewhere. Just thought I'd share :)
 
If you smell them with ease and the lupulin is quick to stain your fingers when pinching or messing with them, they are most likely ready for picking. They will also feel somewhat papery and dry compared to earlier when they were springy and squishy.
 
Then they are starting to be ready for harvesting. They've only really started growing like this in the last couple of weeks. Now I need to find a way to store them until I'm ready to use them...
