I really want to get these new Citra hops in. So I modified a Pliny clone recipe as such. Good use of Citra? Thoughts?

Pliny DIPA

MALT BILL
13 lbs 2-Row Malt
0.5 lbs Crystal 40 Malt
0.5 lbs Carapils (Dextrin) Malt
1 lb Dextrose Sugar

O.G. - 1.070
F.G. - 1.011
BU's - 90-95 (actual/not calculated)
ABV - 8-8.5%
Mash Rest - 151-152
Boil Time - 90 min.
SRM - 7ish
California Ale Yeast

HOP BILL
3.50 oz CTZ 13.90% A.A. 90 min.
1 oz Chinook 13.90% A.A. 45 min.
1.00 oz Simcoe 12.30% A.A. 30 min.

1 oz citra 20 mins
1 oz centennial 15 mins
1 oz citra 10 mins

1 oz centennial 0 mins
2 oz simcoe 0 mins

1.00 oz CTZ 13.90% A.A. Dry Hop (12 to 14 Days Total)
1.00 oz Centennial 9.10% A.A. Dry Hop (12 to 14 Days Total)
1.00 oz Simcoe 12.30% A.A. Dry Hop (12 to 14 Days Total)
1 oz citra

How much do you want to taste the Citra? Personally I would swap the ounce of the Citra from 10 minutes with an ouce of the Simcoes at flame-out to maximize the aromatics from it.

Sounds like a tasty beer to me, good luck.

I don't believe that's a good recipe to high lite Citra, don't get me wrong, I have a Pliny clone on tap right now, it's just that recipe has a lot going on hop wise.
The true flavor will no doubt be buried.

I'm planning to do my house IPA and sub all the Centennial with all Citra.

That's what I would do if your looking to get a good idea of the true taste of the hop, if your looking just to use them up, go for it.:mug:
