Well, I just polished off a glass of my Raccoon Trail Pale Ale, then I popped the top on my former favorite pale ale - Firestone Walker Pale Ale (or California Pale 21 or whatever they're calling it nowadays). I have to say, I like mine more. It's just exactly what I was trying to brew. I get a thick, sticky head that lasts and lasts and leaves lacing all the way down the glass that came out of the dishwasher. It has a nice lightly sweet caramel malt backbone, but the hops really drive the bus - a little spice, a lot of citrus. And the dry hopping in the keg with the ounce of Cascades really puts it over the top. I just love it. I'll try to remember to get a photo and post in the recipe section tomorrow night.

As you might guess, I started about a year ago with EdWort's Haus Pale Ale and morphed it over several batches to this:

Type: All Grain
Date: 9/6/2008
Batch Size: 5.00 gal
Brewer: Quicksilver Home Brewery
Boil Size: 7.00 gal Asst Brewer:
Boil Time: 60 min Equipment: Brew Pot (7.5 gal) and Cooler (50 qt)
Brewhouse Efficiency: 74.30
Taste Notes: Loads of hops nose - floral and light citrus
Pale orange-yellow with thick, rich off-white head. Quite sticky and good retention
Hop centric.. Very light caramel sweetness. Some light fruitiness. Citrus hops on the end, nice lingering bitterness.

And now to figure out how to post a recipe again...

This sounds nice and will be going on my 'to brew' list'.

I think you can just post a thread in the relevant receipe section for this to be added and appear under your name too.
