Hello all,

I started a batch of cider about 3 months ago using S-04 and some dregs of sour beers. I forgot to add pectic enzyme so there was a wall of pectic haze towards the bottom.

The other night I added some dissolved gelatin and today I put the carboy in the refrigerator. I want the cider to clear so I can bottle it as I need room in the carboy.

Does this seem like a reasonable thing to do?

alternatively, could I put a nylon bag around the input end of the racking cane to transfer the cider without the haze to the bottling bucket?

Yes, it was reasonable. get it good and cold, then bottle it.

Nylon bag isn't going to reduce haze, unless its from some huge sediment.
