What is considered the "standard" length of time for cold crashing?

I usually do it for three or four days, but is that too little or too much?

I don't think that it's a huge deal either way, but I've been crash cooling overnight, adding gelatin in the morning and waiting about 36 hours and racking to a keg. I've been getting commercial looking beer, for what that matter?

It is temperature dependent...A day or two at 30 degrees and you will be gtg

Temperature is more important than time. Which implies that the higher the temperature the more time you need.

For an ale if you can do a couple few days at -2 C you will have gotten everything you want. It doesn't hurt to continue storing it cold (though a 45 F serving temp is fine for that).

Yes. You start having to call it lagering or cold conditioning after about a week.:p
