On Christmas Eve, Boy #1 gave me a champagne bottle of New Glarus 'Wisconsin Belgian Red ' http://www.newglarusbrewing.com/index.cfm/beers/ourbeers/beer/wisconsin-belgian-red

Its not sold in Illinois and he bought it when he was playing a soccer match in Milwaukee. I served it the next day with Christmas dinner, it turned out to be a really nice pairing. Its made with a pound of cherries for each bottle, very tart but not over the top sour or horsey. Just right for cutting through the fatty smoked fish, cheese, creamed vegetables.

Served in flutes, it was a beautiful red and highly carbonated. Again, very festive.

Did you enjoy any exceptional celebration beers this holiday?
