If you had a 5gal brew thats OG is 1.080 could you use 2 packs of yeast instead of making a yeast starter with one pack? I decided to make a IPA tonight with a buddy last minute and the expected OG should be around 1.080. I have 2 things of S-05 and usually i would do a starter and use just one but dont really have the time. Is 2packs of S-05 too much for 5gal brew?

Starters and not needed with dry yeast, do you mean you would rehydrate the yeast? Looking at Mrmalty you would need 1.5 pac of 11 gram yeast for a 1.080 beer.
