Alright y'all, I'm needing some brain power.
Had planned on brewing this last weekend, but a winter storm caused 2 solid days of rain and put a stop to that. While I was sitting there mopeing I started thinking about moving back into the kitchen. I dug out the old 5 gal kettle and started thinking about a 2.5 gal batch. Here's where I got stumped.
The last time I brewed on a stovetop I get some nasty carmelization on the bottom. I have an electric stove and was wondering if anyone had any ideas about something to put between the element and the pot to diffuse the heat, kinda like a solid aluminum plate or like that.
Any ideas?
