most people use the standard 3/4 cup corn sugar, boil in 2 cups of water for 10 minutes, and add to bottling bucket for a ~5 gallon batch.

using grams or ounces is more accurate and will allow you to carbonate your beer to a specific volume. let me see if i can find that website...

I would recommend just using the 3/4 cup for your first batch, tho

3/4 cup if you have a whole 5 gallons, or darn close.

if you only end up with 4 gallons, use the link provided so you don't over carb the beer.
