I really hate to post this stupid question, but after searching a couple forums I couldn't find the answer.

I am going to get some tubing for my "blow off." I was wondering how much tubing I will need. 4Ft enough since it just will go straight into a bucket solution right next to the fermenter? Also, what size tubing should I use, I'll be using a 6.5gallon plastic bucket? :mug:

My 3 foot section is a little short out of a 5 gallon glass carboy. I think 4 would be perfect, but I am planning on 5 for a little wiggle room.

Lowes has a 10 foot pre-cut coil of 1/2"OD - 3/8"ID for like $4.00.

The ID is a perfect fit over the inner stem of an airlock. As for the legth...

Too short and it won't go deep enough. Too long and it'll just go saggy in the middle, maybe even kink.

Mine is long enough to fit deeply into the jugs and coil slightly on top of the bucket lid and keep the airlock upright.

This all has a tinge of perversion to it.
