I'm about to order an all-grain recipe kit (Arrogant Bastard Ale, see recipe below) from AHS, but wanted your thoughts on upping the 2-row grain to 15.5 lbs instead of 13.5. This is only my second all grain batch and I'm sure my efficiency is going to be terrible, so I thought I'd add 2 more pounds of grain. Good idea? What about the Crystal 120L, should I up that a little too?

13.5# 2-row (Up to 15.5# ?)
1.5# Crystal 120L

2.5 oz Chinook, 60 min
.75 oz Chinook, 15 min
.75 oz Chinook, 5 min.

My first batch I got about 65%. Using an on-line calculator if I get that again I'll have an OG of 1.080 with 5 gallons.

I believe ahs kits are figured at 70%, so you should be close. According to your recipe figured at 70% your Og should be 1.069. At 65% it drops to 1.064, so if you added 1.5 pounds of two row it would take you to 1.070.

Im an idiot, all my recipes are figured at 5.5 gallons not 5. So og at 70% would be 1.076, at 65% 1.070 an extra pound of two row would put you at 1.075.
