hi all i made a batch of gopher greatness octoberfest lager about amonth ago and just took a sample from the keg and guess what, it smells of corn . what did i do wrong and will it go away in time.

How bout a recipe. Mash temps time, Ferement temps & length.

Lagers need more than a month before they are ready. Heck, my ales take 8 weeks before I drink them (except for the Hefe).

ok i used recipe as per book but i made it as a single step mash, fermented in my basement at about 55 degrees for 7 days ,then racked it into a corney and put it into my kegarator at 40 degrees fro 1 month.hope this is the proper info.

What does it taste like? I agree with Ed that it will take longer than a month. I'm just now carbing my Oktoberfest that I brewed back in June.

Post your recipe, mash temps/times as Ed requested.
