Hey everyone,

My chest freezer which I use a fermentation chamber at around 68 F has a rather unpleasant smell. I've cleaned it twice with oxyclean, i`ve even tried sanitizing it...no luck.

Any tips?
Is there any chance that this odour can affect my beer?

Thanks!

Gabriel

Probably won't solve your problem exactly, but it might help... I always keep a box of Baking Soda in my fermentation chambers. Mine still have an overwhelming "new" smell...

Yeah, I've seen your fermenter thread. Now you're just showboating... I want some new smell.... ;)

I bought it used...didn`t smell at first but now it has become quite unpleasant...
The baking soda will probably help...

How about it affecting the beer?

thanks

I had this same question. I'll let you know in a few weeks If it affected the beer or not.
