Is blow-off tubing needed for secondary?

I tried searching, but didn't find this question answered...

If your fermentation has completed in primary (say 3 weeks), is there any threat of a krausen build up when you rack to a carboy? My gut is saying no, so I'd rather not have to setup the tubing.

No you shouldn't need a blowoff in secondary, unless you are adding additional fermentables, which even then you may not need it.

Not necessary. Your gut is correct. Reward it with some beer.

No, it is not needed. Brew should be at or near fg so there should not be any kraussen spewing out at that time.

Unless you racked early and fermentation was nowhere near completed...

Still put an airlock on. But a blowoff tube is overkill.

You won't need a blow off for your beer, but it's always good to treat yourself to a blow off any time!
