A friend gave me around 50 old swing-top bottles. The youngest is 20 years old. I pulled the tops and took off all the rubber gaskets. After rinsing the dust off and getting the labels off, the soaked overnight in oxy-clean. Tomorrow I plan on hitting them with a bottle brush and a bleach bath before new gaskets. Any tips on dealing with old dirty bottles?

The bottles are really cool. Half are green and half brown. Mostly Grolsch with a dozen or so brown Altenburger bottles.

The Grolsch bottles are different than new ones. They are round and seem heavier.

oxyclean should work. If not, try PBW. If you don't have a bottle jet, you should...

I hit them with a brush and they cleaned up beautifully. Really great bottles.
PBW is on the list for the next trip to the LHBS.
