Blown stopper, no activity, repitch?

OK, The IPA I made blew the stopper last week. I had about 5-6 quarts of room but I guess it wasnt enough. Anyway, here we are a week later and there has been really no activity at all. So, I am thinking:

1. Measure the gravity over 2-3 day period.

2. Possibly re pitch some yeast.

It is my feeling that I blew off a good portion of my yeast goodness. Or its simply Beer-Gnome Paranoia.

Don't do anything until you check the gravity, it may be done. Don't be paranoid.:mug:
 
Yes, that gunk on top is full of yeast, but so is the rest of the beer. Don't think that you blew all the yeast out and they are going to quit early. If you had a vigorous enough fermentation to have a blowoff, it is very unlikely that you need to repitch.
