So a friend of mine has been writing articles for a few brewing and beer publications, and I've brewed a couple batches for his articles...
My recipe for an English Mild is published in the august/september issue of Southern Brew News. The article was about a colonial era brewery from Jekyll Island, GA. From historical documents we knew which grains he grew and used, so I put together a grainbill based on those and assumed Kent Goldings would be about as accurate as we could be for hops assuming they would have transplanted English hops. We also used artesian spring water from the original brewery site that they used... All in all it was a fun project and produced a pretty good Mild.
The article and recipe is a few pages in on the aug/sept issue...
