What type of grapes grow wild in pa? While out picking wineberrys and wueen annes lace i stumbled across a few wild grape vines with itsy bitsy grapes growing. Wondering what type they might be? Is there a way to tell before they are fully mature? Im excited at thr thought of foraging wild grapes for wine.

The most common wild grapes in PA are summer, fox, and frost although New england and sand can also be found. They could also be a number other species that were spread by animals from a local vineyard. I believe the most common wine grapes (at least in central pa) are concord, catawba, niagara, chardonnay, and riesling.

Thank you for the help! I guess now we wait untillthey are ripe and i have names to google images so that helps a lot!
