I'm new to home brewing and love the experimentation in developing new flavors. Can anyone tell me of a recipe or method to make a stout that has a low IBU around 20 or under? Or is this a pipe dream?
Don't get too caught up on IBUs. More important is the ratio between IBUs and OG - if there's a lot of malt and sweetness, high IBUs are less noticable.
Still, you might be interested in a Sweet Stout or a Milk Stout. BYO has some information and recipes here, and you might also check out the Stout section of the recipe database.
