What makes a stout a stout? What makes it Imperial? The recipes are all over the place. If this question has been answered before please direct me to the links. I stink at searching but I do make an attempt. Really, what's the difference?

http://www.bjcp.org/2008styles/style13.php That should tell you anything you want to know (as far as flavor, aroma, mouthfeel, etc.) about the official style of "stout"
"Imperial," in regards to any beer, just means "stronger than normal." Imperials usually start in the area of 7.5% ABV
