How do you read the following: ">10"

  • Greater than ten

  • Less than ten

Speaking as a math teacher, it is "greater than 10". To say "less than 10" would be incorrect. To say "ten is less than" would not be technically correct terminology, but it would be a true statement.

I'm greatly disappointed now!
I prolly would'a posted it elsewhere had it been the one you were hoping for, YooperBrew. Of course, my posting it might have answered Fingers' poll and surprised SWMBO as well.

I did greater than, because I know it's technically correct.

However, if this is one of those "how does your mind work" things (like the word "unionized") I was wondering who forgot to close their tags. ;)

Holy cow did I read that thread title wrong. Believe me, I'm greatly disappointed now!

I thought for sure that I would be answering 'left' to this thread. Good thing I don't have to now.

Damn... perhaps I've said too much. :p

> means greater than

My elementary school teacher taught us that its a crocodile mouth and always "eats" the bigger thing. 1<4 or 9>5.
