I have been experimenting with different ingredients for Root Beer.

I was looking into sugar substitutions and tried molasses. I was concerned with sweetness and forgot to take the powerful taste into account. The batch was right on the verge undrinkable.

I posted my failure on a different board and the a Finn suggested I add gin. What a difference it made! It smoothed out the molasses and gave it a bit of a kick.

Too bad I already have another batch cooling and it will need to go into the RootBeer only keg soon.
