So, I've got a few brews under my belt and would like to make my own recipe now. I just want to run it past people with lots of experience before I order it all.

It's going to be a Belgium Dubble

.25 Lb Cara-Pils
.25 Lb Caravienne Malt
.25 Lb Special B Malt

8 Lb liquid pale malt extract

1 Lb Amber candi sugar (home made)

.5 oz Saaz 60 Min
.5 oz Styrian Goldings 60 Min
.5 oz Styrian Goldings 15 Min
.5 oz Saaz 5 Min

White Labs WLP500 Trappist Ale Yeast.

OG should be 1.065
IBU of 20.8

So, if anyone has some pointers on how to make it good, I would appreciate it. The only thing that is set in stone is the yeast, which I already have.

By the way, I'm planning ahead and thinking of making a crazy hybrid style after this beer on the yeast cake. A Smoked Belgium Stout/Porter. Does that sound like it would work?

Thanks, you are all a great help.

Should this have wheat in it, or am I thinking of a different style?
