I'm taking a second stab at the Sam Adams summer clone I've been working with and I have a question. The recipe from the book calls for 1/2 oz / 14 grams of Grains of Paradise.

The problem:
-Every other clone of this recipe I've seen calls for 2-3 grams or so
-Grains of Paradise are sold in 2 gram increments
-All descriptions of the spice say to use it extremely sparingly

So, is North American Clone Brews full of it? Is this just a typo? Or should I try it... I just don't want to slaughter my brew with Grains of Paradise.

I'm not sure about this particular recipe, as I've yet to use GoP (I just ordered some though, in 2gm increments). However, not everyone offers the 2gm packages. I've ordered them for a friend before from Austin Homebrew, and they sell them in 1/2oz (or 14.7gm) packages for $1.99. So don't use the packaging size as a guide.
