I have started brewing my own Beer in 5 gallon batches. Now I have the left over Mr. Beer keg that I started with. I thought I would make some hard cider. Does anyone have any recipies for a 2 gallon hard cider I can make in my Mr. Beer keg

It can really be as easy as two gallons of preservative free apple juice and a half packet of yeast. I think Mr. Beer also sells some extract kits that would work as well.

Just a warning, after brewing a 2 gallon batch of cider, you will most likely regret not making a bigger batch... :mug:

I know even after a 5 gallon batch is done I find myself wishing it was 10 gallons... Lol

But seriously, any recipe you find can be adjusted for 2 gallons! Just a little math involved. A one gallon recipe, multiply each ingredient by 2, a 6 gallon recipe, just divide by 3, and a 5 gallon recipe, divide by 5 and multiply by 2

Happy brewing!

Here is what I would do,

2 Gallons Preservative-Free Apple Cider
1/2 lb Brown Sugar
1 Packet Champagne Yeast

I generally make five gallon batches though, because I find myself wanting more.

Just be careful adding a lot of extra sugar. With a champagne yeast and a lot of sugar, you'll end up with something more akin to wine than a hard cider. (My personal opinion of course)

It's all a personal preference, but my experience is add enough sugar to get it above a SG of 1.050 and use an ale yeast.
